Malone Souliers is a bold and unapologetically feminine British footwear brand. In the nine seasons since its launch, the brand has garnered a global reputation for beautifully crafted collections in the finest skins and materials, and the truly unique and vivid pallet of colourways. Already sold in many of the world's finest stores, the brand has rapidly developed cult status, with a following to match, counting stellar names such as Lupita Nyong’o, Solange Knowles, Caroline Issa, Cameron Diaz, Gemma Arterton, Jodie Kidd and Sienna Guillory amongst their clients.
The Malone Souliers ethic is governed by proportion, beauty of line and an unwavering attention to detail. The female foot and the enhancement of its beauty, the perfecting of its arch, are paramount. The techniques are age-old provenance and the materials of exquisite quality.
Mary Alice Malone, the brand’s creative director, has a singular view. “The high heel is a magician. A beautiful heel will sculpt the foot and create a transformative reaction through the entire body. They will affect posture and the way you walk-but also the way you talk, the way you carry your head, your entire bearing.”
Subtle, often hidden, innovations in constructions are as critical to the Malone Souliers shoe as the beauty of its line. The position of each heel is exactingly centralised for optimal balance. Every inner sole is cushioned below in buttery-soft lining for comfort. In the Malone Souliers mule, the ‘Spring-o-Lator’ (an ingenious device invented in the US in the 1950’s) prevents the unattractive ‘splapping’ sound whilst walking. The shoes are beautiful; the experience of wearing them, equally so.
With this guiding principle, Mary Alice Malone crafts each collection, which Roy Luwolt develops into a luxury brand and business, both informed by the aesthetic of conceal-and-reveal of the 1950’s and 1970’s inspired by iridescent women of the same era, girls and women who the indivisible founders of Malone Souliers find to be as iconic as they are ironically sexy.
Malone Souliers’ headquarters, housing the brand’s design studio, showroom and commercial and creative offices are situated in London’s Mayfair.
